Mudslide Pudding Shots

My vanilla pudding shots have been a huge hit on Pinterest, people love their boozy snacks with sprinkles!  Not only are pudding shots cute to pin, they are fun to eat and people instantly gravitate towards them.  A couple of years ago I made pudding shots a bunch of times after sampling them at a bachelorette party and love to bring them back out when appropriate.

Whenever you’re having a pudding shot, you’re having a good day.  I made these for the best day of the year – the last day of school.  We had a floor luncheon on the third floor and this is what I brought.  Please don’t be confused this lunch with the previous floor luncheon – that was on the second floor, this one was on the third floor!  Plus the room that hosted is one of the few with air conditioning, score!

In case a mini pudding cup filled with booze isn’t enough excitement for you, we’re going to eat these shots with a cookie, yes a cookie!  There are few things in this world more delightful than an edable spoon.  Pro tip – ration your cookie spoon carefully so you have enough cookie to eat all the pudding.  Eat your spoon too quickly you’ll be forced to perform strange tongue tricks or use your fingers.  Careful now, the sharp plastic can cut your finger if you’re not gentle with your pudding eating.  Right Dean?

Anyway, these pudding shots will not disappoint anyone in the crowd.  They are boozy, chocolaty, and crunchy; there is nothing else you need in life.  The vodka and kahlua are definitely present in these little bites.  If you want to be the hit of the next summer BBQ, make some pudding shots!

Mudslide Pudding Shots
Adapted from Vanilla Pudding Shots
Yield – 36

3.9 ounce box instant chocolate pudding
3/4 cup cold, whole milk
1/2 cup whipped vodka {you could use plain, vanilla, or whatever you have on hand}
1/3 cup kahlua
8 ounces cool whip, thawed
oreo crumbs for garnish
wafer cookies for spoons

1. Set up the little cups in a baking pan for ease of movement.
2. Whisk together the pudding and the milk until smooth.  Whisk in the vodka and kahlua.
3. Fold in the cool whip until no white streaks remain.
4. Transfer the mixture to a gallon-size bag and snip a small hole in one corner.  Squeeze a little pudding into each cup, about 3/4 of the way full.
5. Sprinkle with oreo crumbs if desired.
6. Place the lids on each cup and place in the fridge or freezer to firm up.
7. Serve with a cookie for a spoon!
